Yesterday I watched as the city of Santa Barbara put up their Christmas tree. It is amazing. Every year, the city puts up their huge Christmas tree right in the middle of the street, next to The Arlington, and for the first time I got to see the city actually putting the giant tree into place. I watched as they came in with the crane to lift the tree onto the ground, stand it upright, then shave off the sides of the tree so that it will fit into the stand that they have for it. It looks so beautiful towering over everything. The lights haven’t been put on yet, but when they do, the beauty of the tree will skyrocket. I doubt that it is anything next to the Rock Center tree in New York, but it is still amazing in downtown Santa Barbara. A picture to follow…
