Right now I am sitting in our hotel bed and looking out the window of at the beautiful, victorian type skyscrapers that surround us. It looks like another beautiful day with blue skies.
As we left the room yesterday to explore our surroundings, we found out that we are close to everything. We walked downstairs, crossed the street, and wuala, we have everything at our figertips: Pretzel stands, Blondie’s Pizza (very good), Forever 21, The Gap, Urban Outfitters, Anthropology, Old Navy, Fcuk, Walgreens, Nordstrom, Abercombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Puma, Virgin Records, The Apple Store, the Cable Car (huge line), and more. It’s amazing how close we are to everything we need (and don’t need, but want). After spending about 5 hours within a block of our hotel and doing some serious shopping damage, we came back up, rested for a bit, changed into our spiffies and took a cab to “Foreign Cinema”. I had called Monica previously this week and asked her to call her brother (who lives in SF) about some really good, nice, restaurants there were here for our anniversary dinner. Monica called me back and said that her brother recommended Foreign Cinema. Foreign Cinema was really nice: tea light candles lit on all tables, fireplace in the center of the room, upper balcony. The cool thing about this restaurant was that every night they project a foreign film on the outside wall of the restaurant for people to watch while the dine. This week they were playing “A Very Long Engagement”. Really cool concept, but we were only able to see the top 10% of the screen being that we weren’t in the outside patio. The food was amazing, but the service kinda blew. Every table had bottles of wine on it except for ours. Keep in mind that most of the wines on the menu were above $40 per glass! I like wine, but it refuses to please Heather, so I decided to stick to my trusty Cocacola Classic. I say all this because I think that because we looked young, and didn’t order any expensive alcohol, we were second rate diners to them, and thus, “we can make them wait 35 minutes after they order to bring them their food, and then we can completely ignore them the rest of the night.” anyway, the dinner tasted fantastic, and the setting was really beautiful.
After dinner we took a cab to “The Fillmore” where we saw a band called The Futureheads. They are a pretty cool band from Northern England that sort of sound like The Ramones. They were really tight as a band, and their vocal work together was rad. After a long day, we took a taxi back to our hotel where we “hit the hay” as my mom used to say when I was young. A very fun, but tiring day in San Francisco.

Not to quibble… but you must mean “voila”, not “wuala”
“Voila” is French, “there it is!”
