Bubbles

I am still amazed by how incredible the weather is here. Today looks like a duplicate of yesterday’s weather. Before we came to San Francisco, I read a lot online about this place and spoke to a bunch of people who have been here before and they all said that it was always foggy. We are so stoked that the fog has lifted for us.

I just have to say that this trip has been so relaxing and fun. Yesterday we walked around and did some more shopping and then went and saw “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” at the theater 2 blocks from our hotel. The theater is huge. With 4 levels and many directions to go, you can get lost easily if you aren’t a Franciscan. One thing I am definitely learning is that in Santa Barbara, we live in a bubble. I guess I have sort of known that all along, but exploring a big city really makes you realize the bubble you have been living in. There are so many different types of people and everything is done on such a larger scale.

After the movie, we rested a bit and then took the cable car to the North Beach section of town (also known to some as Little Italy), and walked around and smelled all the deliciously authentic Italian cuisine. My Mom and Stepdad gave me and Heather some money for our anniversary and told us we had to go to this Italian restaurant called “Franchino”. So after smelling all the good food as we were walking, we stopped in for dinner at Franchino. It was a very small place and completely owned and operated by one Italian family. The food was utopian! We had the best bruscheta we had ever tasted in our entire lives, heather’s lasagna was incredible, and my Gnochi con gorganzola was heavenly. If you ever go to North Beach, this place is the place to go for good and authentic Italian eats.

We walked around some more, stopping at the Ghirardelli Square for some sundays and put an end to another fun day.
