On August 10-12 I will be a part of the Soliton Sessions in Ventura CA. The Soliton Sessions are what the unknowing might call a “conference”. But Soliton is far from a conference. It follows more along the lines of a beautiful conversation where everyone gets to interact with one another and each side has something to contribute. From the Soliton website, it is described as: “a global network of cultural creatives, missionaries, activists, church planters and Kingdom entrepreneurs, in dialogue about 21st century mission, justice, spirituality and the church.” Also from the website, “The Network and Sessions live for conversations that would form faith and friendship. Immersed in hospitality and generosity Soliton provides space for the sharing of life, thought and practice, dreams, and friendship.”
I have never been a part of a more substantive or important event than Soliton. The conversations had and friendships made are worth the $125 price tag by far. This year the theme is “Human Hospitality: The Gospel of Welcome” and there are going to be some great practitioners guiding the conversations such as Gareth Higgins and Si Johnston (N. Ireland), Kester Brewin (UK), Doug and Shelley Pagitt, Shane Claiborne and Greg Russinger (US).
If you are at all interested in being a part of this event, please let me know. Heather and I along with Billy and Kristin will be going, and it would be great if more would be able to come along.

I’m glad that your wimmin-folk are going, and am looking forward to their (much-needed) voices in the conversations.
As am I Jon. Looking forward to seeing your whole crew.
Wish I could attend.
You could always make the trek from Canada
