Muse-ic

A couple great CD’s came out here in the US on Tuesday.

Muse’s “Blackholes and Revelations“. I had this about 3 weeks ago due to an earlier release in other countries, and it is amazing. I can safely say that Muse is my favorite all around band…at least I think so…there are just so many good bands and artists that keep coming out…This release is a bit different from their others, but it is still fantastic. It is a bit less melancholy than their previous efforts, even though the album starts off with an amazing track that cries: “You’ll burn in hell, yeah you’ll burn in hell for your sins”.

Thom Yorke’s first solo attempt with “The Eraser” is also very impressive. When Thom is not working on his solo gigs, he is the lead singer of Radiohead. Every track on this short cd (only 9 tracks!) is fantastic.

That Tom Yorke album seemed to come out of nowhere. There’s nothing innovative here but any Radiohead fan
will love this album. Most of the samples are un-used tracks that where created by the band for Hail to the Thief album. What I like about Tom Yorke is the vulnerability in his voice and the pain, longing and utter confusion described in his lyrics. I can’t wait for the new Radiohead album. It’s time for them to revolutionize popular music once again.

  2. Very nice Vigoda. I really liked Thom’s voice over the electronic beats laid down. Beautifully said about his voice. I am a Radiohead fan, and I love this album…
